The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing gold tailings and industrial waste residues, and grinding to obtain powder; uniformly mixing an alkali activator, a foaming material and water to obtain a mixed solution; adding the powder and the mixed solution into a disc type granulator for granulation to obtain ceramsite before maintenance; covering the surface of the ceramsite before curing with a layer of film, naturally curing at room temperature for 12-48 hours, and then performing mineralization curing in the presence of carbon dioxide for 3-7 days to obtain the ceramsite. The preparation method can be carried out at normal temperature and normal pressure, the obtained gold tailing unfired ceramsite has the advantages of high carbon sequestration and low energy consumption, and co-treatment of comprehensive utilization of gold tailings and sealing and utilization of carbon dioxide is realized.
