The invention belongs to the field of gates, and particularly relates to a water conservancy and hydropower gate which comprises a gate body and side edge sealing mechanisms, the symmetrical side edge sealing mechanisms are arranged on the two sides of the gate body correspondingly, the side edge sealing mechanisms are located between the gate body and the side wall of a gate opening, and each side edge sealing mechanism comprises a driving extrusion plate, a sealing plate and a sealing piece; the gate body is connected with the driving extrusion plate, the side face of the gate body is connected with the sealing piece, the sealing piece and the driving extrusion plate are oppositely arranged, the side, facing the sealing piece, of the driving extrusion plate is fixedly connected with the sealing plate, and when the gate body moves to the lowest height, the driving extrusion plate moves towards the sealing piece and presses the sealing piece tightly; a sealing structure is formed; compared with the prior art, the sealing performance is better, and the pressing force needed by sealing can be maintained for a long time; and abrasion of the sealing piece and the sealing plate can be reduced, the lifting smoothness of the gate body is improved, and jamming is avoided.
