The invention relates to the technical field of ancient building seismic resistance, in particular to an anti-seismic structure of an ancient building and a construction method thereof.The anti-seismic structure of the ancient building comprises a base structure used for fixing and supporting an overall structure; the shock absorption supports are arranged at the upper end of the base structure and used for horizontal and transverse shock resistance of the whole structure, the number of the shock absorption supports is multiple, and the multiple shock absorption supports are sequentially connected to form a bearing column. By rotating the adjusting bolt on the main beam, the adjusting bolt can rotate outwards to drive the adjusting ball to rotate, meanwhile, the wedging plate outside the adjusting ball is pushed to expand outwards, the wedging plate is made of an elastic material, and when the wedging plate is in sliding connection with the adjusting ball, the wedging plate can be bent to a certain degree by rotating the adjusting bolt; and then supporting force is provided through the main beam, and the stability of the top of the historic building is achieved.
