The invention discloses a construction method and structure for mechanical reinforcement of a steel column foot anchor bolt. The method comprises the steps that a mounting hole of a column foot bottom plate is subjected to reaming treatment; the anchor bolt is divided into an upper section and a lower section, the lower anchor bolt penetrates through the mounting hole of the column base bottom plate to be embedded into the concrete foundation, and the top of the lower anchor bolt is higher than the column base bottom plate; a steel base plate with a through hole is arranged above the column base bottom plate; a butt-joint nut is arranged between the upper anchor bolt and the lower bolt and penetrates through the through hole of the steel base plate, the lower end of the butt-joint nut enters the mounting hole of the column base bottom plate, the lower end of the upper anchor bolt is connected with the upper end of the lower anchor bolt through the butt-joint nut, and the upper end of the upper anchor bolt is higher than the steel base plate; and a nut is mounted at the upper end of the upper anchor bolt above the steel base plate. The anchor bolt is divided into two sections, the exposed length of the anchor bolt is prolonged in a sleeving reinforcement mode, and the problem that a nut cannot be installed due to the fact that the anchor bolt of the column foot joint is too short is solved.
