The invention relates to a road green belt and a construction method thereof.The road green belt comprises a concrete water tank arranged in a green belt area, the middle of the concrete water tank is provided with a vertically-arranged supporting frame, the supporting frame is provided with two sets of planting tank bodies, the planting tank bodies are used for planting green plants, and the two sets of planting tank bodies are symmetrically arranged about the central axis of the concrete water tank; one group of planting tank bodies comprises a plurality of planting tank bodies which are obliquely arranged at intervals, and the distance between each planting tank body and the central axis of the concrete water tank is gradually reduced from bottom to top. The supporting frame and the planting groove bodies are arranged to form a three-dimensional greening structure, so that the greening and shielding effects are achieved, light interference of coming vehicles on the road is reduced, gaps between the adjacent planting groove bodies are large, most rainwater penetrates through the gaps to be collected in the concrete water groove, the drainage efficiency is improved, and the water drainage effect is improved. Rainwater borne by the planting groove bodies is little, and the situation that roots are rotted due to waterlogging can be greatly reduced.
