The invention discloses a steel structure modular building connecting joint which comprises an upper layer module corner column component, a lower layer module corner column component and a connecting plate component used for connecting the upper layer module corner column component and the lower layer module corner column component. The upper-layer module corner post component comprises an upper-layer module corner post and a bottom beam arranged on the side portion of the upper-layer module corner post, and the lower-layer module corner post component comprises a lower-layer module corner post and a top beam arranged on the side portion of the lower-layer module corner post. The connecting plate component comprises a connecting plate, a first energy dissipation and shock absorption positioning block arranged on the upper surface of the connecting plate and a second energy dissipation and shock absorption positioning block arranged on the lower surface of the connecting plate. The first energy dissipation and shock absorption positioning block is used for being inserted into an inner cavity of a corner column of the upper-layer module so as to achieve positioning and energy dissipation and shock absorption effects on installation of the module, and the second energy dissipation and shock absorption positioning block is used for being inserted into an inner cavity of a corner column of the lower-layer module so as to achieve positioning and energy dissipation and shock absorption effects on installation of the module.
