The invention provides a method for connecting fiber reinforced composite material ribs, and belongs to the technical field of civil engineering structures. The fiber reinforced composite material rib comprises a fabric rib cage framework, a fiber reinforced plastic rib is arranged in the fabric rib cage framework, and cement-based composite materials are poured between the fabric rib cage framework and the fiber reinforced plastic rib and on the periphery of the fabric rib cage framework. The fabric rib cage frameworks and the fiber reinforced plastic ribs at the two ends of the fiber reinforced composite material ribs are exposed, and the exposed length of the fabric rib cage frameworks at the ends of the fiber reinforced composite material ribs is larger than that of the fiber reinforced plastic ribs; the connecting method comprises the following steps that two to-be-connected fiber reinforced composite material ribs are coaxially placed, fabric rib cage frameworks with the to-be-connected ends exposed outside are aligned with fiber reinforced plastic ribs, the two fiber reinforced plastic ribs abut against each other, fiber bundles between the two fabric rib cage frameworks are in lap joint, and the two fabric rib cage frameworks and the fiber bundles are in lap joint; and a cement-based composite material is poured in the connecting area.
