The connector assembly comprises a pressure seat and a transition piece which are arranged at an interval, the pressure seat comprises a pressure frame, a pressure bearing plate and an end plate, the pressure bearing plate and the end plate are installed at the two ends of the pressure frame, a jack is detachably installed in a force application cavity, and a piston hole is formed in the end plate; the end plate and the end plate are parallel to each other or form an included angle less than or equal to 5 degrees; the two ends of the tension bolt are connected to the pressure base and the transition piece respectively. The joint assembly can be mounted between the horizontal support and the structural member and is used for applying prestress to the horizontal support; and after the transition piece is pushed, high-early-strength grouting materials are poured into gaps between the end plates and the end head plates, and grouting material pouring blocks are formed. The invention further discloses a method for applying the prestress to the horizontal support through the connector assembly. In the application, the grouting material pouring block is used for replacing the existing steel wedge, so that the prestress in the horizontal support and the structural member is kept stable.
