The invention provides a high-refractoriness low-expansion silicon carbide roller and a preparation method thereof.The preparation method comprises the steps that silicon carbide micro powder with the first particle size, silicon carbide micro powder with the second particle size and silicon carbide micro powder with the third particle size are graded and mixed with a solid additive and a liquid additive, and a sintered material is obtained; mixing the sintered material with a liquid additive to obtain molding pug; and sequentially extruding, drying and sintering the molding pug to obtain the high-refractoriness low-expansion silicon carbide roller. The sintering is an integrated sintering process of firstly discharging glue and then sintering. The use temperature of the silicon carbide roller prepared by the preparation method is greater than or equal to 1500 DEG C, the refractoriness under load is greater than or equal to 1700 DEG C, the requirements of the industrial field on high-temperature materials are met, and meanwhile, the silicon carbide roller has relatively low expansion coefficient, excellent thermal shock resistance and relatively long service life.
