The invention relates to the technical field of preparation of cement-based materials, and provides a cement-based material with a shell-like bionic structure and a preparation method of the cement-based material. 25 to 40 parts of a gel agent; 0.1 to 0.8 part of a defoaming agent; 3-6 parts of a toughening agent; and 1-5 parts of a reinforcing agent. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing the shell powder, the gel, the defoaming agent, the flexibilizer and water to obtain a mixture; injecting the mixture into a mold, and carrying out first curing treatment to obtain a hardened sample; the reinforcing agent is brushed on the surface of the hardened sample for second maintenance treatment, and the cement-based material of the shell-like bionic structure is obtained. According to the cement-based material and the preparation method thereof disclosed by the invention, the special structure of the pearl layer of the shell is utilized while the waste shell is utilized, the mechanical property of the cement-based material is enhanced, and the durability is improved under the action of the reinforcing agent.
