The invention discloses continuous intermittent composite asphalt mixture stirring equipment and a control method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of asphalt production equipment. The equipment comprises a cold aggregate batching system, a mineral powder metering and adding system, an asphalt metering and adding system, a drying roller, an aggregate elevator, a three-way valve, a hot aggregate bin, a continuous stirring cylinder, an intermittent stirring cylinder and a finished product bin. When the equipment carries out forced continuous production, cold aggregate is accurately and continuously weighed through the cold aggregate batching system and conveyed to the drying drum to be heated and dried, then the cold aggregate is lifted by the aggregate elevator and enters the continuous stirring cylinder through switching of the three-way valve, and metered asphalt and mineral powder are put into the continuous stirring cylinder to be stirred and mixed with the aggregate in the continuous stirring cylinder; and then the mixture enters the intermittent stirring cylinder for secondary stirring. By controlling the opening degree of the discharging door of the continuous stirring cylinder and the interval opening and closing time of the discharging door of the intermittent stirring cylinder, the aggregate flow balance in the two stirring cylinders is controlled, and the stirring effect of the asphalt mixture is improved.
