The invention relates to the field of rail transit equipment, and discloses a narrow steel box girder erection method which comprises the following steps: step 1, mounting pushing equipment on each temporary buttress; an auxiliary support is installed on the side face of a pier, a connecting part is arranged between the auxiliary support and the pier, a sliding rail is arranged on the connecting part, and a sliding block is slidably connected to the sliding rail; secondly, a rotating support is installed on the side, away from the pushing starting point, of the pier; mounting a rotating part on the lower surface of the rear end of the box girder; thirdly, the front end of the box girder is moved to the position of an auxiliary support of the second pier and connected with a sliding block, the rear end of the box girder is moved to the position of the first pier, and a rotating part is placed in a rotating groove; fourthly, the front end of the box girder and the sliding block slide to the second pier on the sliding rail together, and the box girder rotates with the rotating part as the circle center; the method is low in construction difficulty, wide in application range and suitable for small-radius and large-span rail transit construction.
