The invention relates to a closure method and system for side-span beach ground steel beams of an ultra-large-span cable-stayed bridge. The closure method comprises the following steps that a first vertical jack is arranged on the temporary pier top of a sliding support on the adjacent side of a side-span side steel beam closure opening; the first vertical jack is used for adjusting the corner at the closure opening of the side span side steel beam; and the cantilever ends of the side span side steel beams and the cantilever ends of the main span side steel beams are in butt joint to complete closure. By means of the existing sliding support, the top steel beam is jacked up on the temporary pier, close to the side span steel beam closure opening, of the sliding support, the closure opening deviation can be adjusted to be within the installation precision requirement, closure sensitivity is high, jacking force is small, closure opening longitudinal deviation caused by jacking falling beams is small, the longitudinal movement amount of the steel beam is small, operation is convenient, and safety and reliability are achieved. And the closure precision and speed are effectively ensured.
