The invention relates to a rock slope retaining wall vegetation groove ternary structure and a construction method, and belongs to the technical field of geotechnical engineering and ecological slope protection. The retaining wall structure is located on a slope toe step or a riding track of each stage of rock slope and comprises three integrated structure units including a retaining wall unit, a vegetation unit and a drainage unit which are sequentially connected. Each retaining wall unit mainly comprises a trapezoidal retaining wall and a slope toe filter material; the vegetation unit is mainly composed of a vegetation layer, an inverted filter layer and a water storage layer. The drainage unit is mainly composed of a middle groove wall, side groove walls and a water seepage partition plate, the water seepage partition plate is arranged between the middle groove wall and the side groove walls, and a water storage layer is also arranged at the bottom of the water seepage partition plate; the vegetation unit is arranged between the trapezoidal retaining wall and the middle groove wall; the bottoms of the retaining wall units, the vegetation units and the drainage units are further provided with integrated groove bottom plates. The method has the three functions of soil retaining and supporting, ecological plant growing and slope drainage.
