The invention discloses ivory white matte glaze and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of ceramic materials. The ivory matte glaze is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 44.0 to 46.0 percent of potassium feldspar, 19 to 19.5 percent of calcite, 11.0 to 11.5 percent of kaolin, 8.0 to 8.5 percent of aluminum oxide, 6.0 to 6.3 percent of barium carbonate, 9.5 to 10.5 percent of titanium dioxide and 0.4 to 0.6 percent of ferric oxide. The preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) weighing the components in proportion, adding water, grinding, and sieving to obtain glaze water; 2) covering the surface of the biscuit with the glaze water; and step 3) putting the glazed green body into a kiln for sintering, and then cooling and taking out of the kiln. According to the present invention, the matching design and the glaze material preparation method are optimized, such that the high-grade texture with the matte surface is generated, and the characteristics of texture change and the like are provided so as to provide the strong aesthetic feeling on the visual feeling and the touch feeling of the glaze color;
