The preparation method of the zirconium-aluminum composite oxide comprises the following steps: adding pseudo-boehmite into a zirconium salt aqueous solution with the concentration of 0.5-1.2 mol/L, gradually adding deionized water while stirring, continuously stirring for 5-15 hours after adding, adding a dispersing agent, and continuously stirring for 4-10 hours to obtain first slurry; and sieving the first slurry with a 200-mesh sieve, drying until the moisture content is less than or equal to 5%, heating to 550-700 DEG C, calcining for 2-4 hours, cooling, crushing and sieving to obtain the catalyst. The composite ceramic substrate is obtained by carrying out ball milling, spray drying, compression molding, isostatic pressing, microwave drying and roasting on zirconium-aluminum composite oxide and yttrium oxide powder, and has the characteristics of high strength and high fracture toughness.
