The invention relates to the technical field of vehicle carrying, and discloses an overhanging type garage and a vehicle storing and taking method. The overhanging type garage comprises a lifting well, a vehicle carrying plate, a temporary storage station and a lifting machine. One side of the bottommost end of the lifting well is provided with an entrance and exit, and multiple layers of parking garage positions are arranged on the outer side of the lifting well at intervals along the Z axis. The vehicle carrying plate is used for carrying vehicles; the cache station is communicated with the lifting well; the lifting machine is arranged in the lifting well and can move up and down along the Z axis to be flush with the temporary storage station or any layer of parking garage position so that the vehicle carrying plate can move back and forth between the temporary storage station and the lifting machine or between the parking garage position and the lifting machine. According to the overhanging type garage, empty vehicle carrying plates on the elevator can be temporarily stored in time, in-out parking of vehicles can be preferentially handled under various conditions, time and labor are saved, and therefore it is guaranteed that the whole working efficiency of vehicle parking and taking is high.
