The invention relates to coal gangue decarburization equipment and a decarburization process, and the decarburization equipment comprises a belt type roasting machine which comprises a preheating section, an ignition section, a combustion decarburization section and a cooling section; the smoke hood unit comprises a first hood body and a second hood body which are communicated, at least part of the first hood body is located on the upper side of the cooling section, and the second hood body is located on the upper side of the combustion decarburization section; an ignition unit; a preheating unit; the fan unit comprises a first fan module used for providing cooling air, the cooling air can penetrate through the part, located on the cooling section, of the material layer and form primary hot air, and the primary hot air is collected by the first cover body and introduced into the second cover body; the second fan module is used for providing suction force for the combustion decarburization section, the primary hot air can penetrate through the part, located on the combustion decarburization section, of the material layer to form secondary hot air, at least part of the secondary hot air is introduced into the ignition unit and the preheating unit, and the second fan module is further used for providing suction force for the ignition section; and the third fan module is used for providing suction force for the preheating section.
