The invention relates to the technical field of building drainage, and provides a sunken square drainage structure which comprises a drainage ditch, a diversion ditch, a greening box and a conveying mechanism. The drainage ditch is dug in the bottom of the square and extends in the circumferential direction of the square. The diversion channel is dug in the steps of the square and extends in the length direction of the steps. The greening boxes are arranged on the steps, the interiors of the greening boxes communicate with the drainage ditches, and the ends of the diversion ditches communicate with openings of the greening boxes; the conveying mechanism comprises a plurality of conveying pipes which penetrate through the filter plate, one end of each conveying pipe extends to the drainage ditch, and the other end of each conveying pipe extends to the greening box; the conveying pipe is filled with conveying sponge; the drainage ditch is provided with a water inlet and a water outlet, a water inlet gate and a water outlet gate are hinged to the two surfaces, deviating from each other, of the ditch wall of the water outlet respectively, and the water inlet gate abuts against the inner surface of the ditch wall. The sunken plaza has the effect of balancing the water resource utilization conditions of the sunken plaza in different climates.
