The invention discloses self-compacting concrete and a preparation method thereof. The self-compacting concrete comprises the following raw materials in parts by mass: 100 parts of cement; 15-25 parts of mineral powder; 10 to 15 parts of fly ash; 50 to 70 parts of sand; 100 to 150 parts of limestone chippings; 180 to 210 parts of coarse aggregate; 2-4 parts of a polycarboxylate superplasticizer; 3-6 parts of an expanding agent; 5-10 parts of carboxyl modified polypropylene fiber; and 40-50 parts of water. The self-compacting concrete provided by the invention not only has outstanding fluidity and segregation resistance, but also has excellent elastic modulus and compactness.
