The invention relates to the technical field of magnetic material preparation, in particular to a ferrite magnetic material and a preparation method thereof.The ferrite magnetic material is prepared from raw materials including ferrite powder and polyvinyl alcohol, and the polyvinyl alcohol is mixed polyvinyl alcohol; the composite material is prepared by mixing more than two kinds of PVAc resin with different polymerization degrees or mixing more than two kinds of polyvinyl alcohol with different polymerization degrees and/or alcoholysis degrees; the invention also comprises a preparation method of the ferrite magnetic material. Compared with a conventional polyvinyl alcohol product, the mixed polyvinyl alcohol prepared by the invention has relatively dispersed molecular weight and alcoholysis degree and relatively dispersed thermal decomposition, so that the prepared ferrite magnetic material has low cracking and damage problems in the calcining process, and the proportion is only 0.8-1.7%; therefore, the qualified rate of the finally prepared ferrite magnetic material product is high and can reach 98.3%-99.2%.
