The invention discloses a steel box girder installation construction method of a steel structure bridge, which comprises the following steps: dividing a to-be-installed steel box girder between two adjacent piers into at least two sections of steel box girder members along the front-back direction, and during hoisting, hoisting the steel box girder members by hoisting equipment along the direction from front to back in sequence and installing the steel box girder members between the two adjacent piers, every two adjacent steel box girder components are connected in a welded mode, and the hoisting equipment and every two adjacent bridge piers are arranged in a collinear mode. Therefore, the hoisting equipment can be located on the connecting line between the two adjacent bridge piers or located on the extension line of the connecting line between the two adjacent bridge piers, the hoisting equipment can be used for gradually completing installation of each steel box girder component between the two adjacent bridge piers in the direction from front to back, and installation of the steel box girders between the two adjacent bridge piers is completed. According to the method, the space between the two adjacent bridge piers can be fully utilized, and therefore the construction space needed for installing the steel box girder can be greatly reduced.
