The invention discloses a construction method of a water delivery tunnel. The construction method comprises the steps that cofferdams at an entrance and an exit of the tunnel are constructed; slope surfaces at the entrance and exit of the tunnel are excavated, and slope surface supporting construction is conducted; constructing a large pipe shed support at the entrance and exit of the tunnel; blasting excavation, deslagging and primary support construction of the cavern are carried out, and penetration of the tunnel is completed; a concrete lining is constructed; and removing the cofferdam. The method is suitable for construction of most water delivery tunnels, and the construction quality, safety and progress can be guaranteed.
