Safe stop adjustable door opening limiter
A door stop system of a vehicle includes a door stop assembly having a stop body securable to a door of the vehicle, a stop link extending through a stop body opening of the stop body, and an adjustment mechanism positioned at a body of the vehicle. The adjustment mechanism includes a housing defining a housing opening, and an adjustment slider positioned in and slidable in the housing opening. The adjustment slider is fixed to the stop link. An adjustment feature is secured to the adjustment slider and extends through an adjustment slot in the housing. Moving the adjustment feature along the adjustment slot moves the adjustment slider in the housing opening to vary the effective length of the stop link.
