The invention discloses a preparation method of steel slag micro powder, and relates to the technical field of steel slag powder preparation. The preparation method comprises the following steps: putting the steel slag into an iron remover to remove iron; adding water, gypsum and an active exciting agent into the iron-removed steel slag; the active exciting agent is prepared from diethanolisopropanolamine, isopropanol, sodium fluosilicate, magnesium hydroxide and water; the dry autogenous mill is used for milling, the size of a grid plate is set according to the needed slag discharging granularity, and slag materials with the specified granularity are separated and discharged; iron removal is conducted on the steel slag micro powder obtained after dry grinding again; and after grinding is finished, qualified micro powder is separated out through powder selecting equipment and subpackaged, and the steel slag micro powder is obtained. The method has the advantages that the activity exciting agent is formed by the diethanolisopropanolamine, the isopropanol, the sodium fluosilicate, the magnesium hydroxide and the water according to a specific proportion, and the activity of the steel slag micro powder can be remarkably improved; when the steel slag micro powder is prepared, iron removal is more thorough, energy consumption is reduced, and cost is reduced.
