The invention relates to a water storage tank and a green roof structure. The water storage tank comprises an inner container, and a narrowed sewage collecting pool is arranged at the bottom of the inner container. A housing in which the inner container is accommodated; and a thermal insulation bin; the shell is provided with an air supply outlet and an air outlet which are formed in the axial direction of the water storage tank, the heat insulation bin is arranged between the air supply outlet and the air outlet, and the air supply outlet, the heat insulation bin and the air outlet are communicated with one another. The greening roof structure comprises the water storage tank. Each planting assembly comprises a greening layer, a plurality of heat collecting pipes connected with the circulating water outlet and an irrigation pipe connected with the irrigation water outlet; and the main drainage pipe further comprises a plurality of water collecting pipes communicated with the heat collecting pipes. Compared with the prior art, the cooling effect of roof greening is improved, the life cycle of roof greening is prolonged, the economic benefits of roof greening are increased, the adverse effects of roof greening on the building structure and the human settlement environment are weakened, and the maintenance cost and maintenance difficulty of roof greening are reduced.
