The asphalt mixture is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by volume: 10 to 40 percent of ceramsite with the particle size of 4.75 to 9.5 mm, 10 to 40 percent of calcined bauxite with the particle size of 4.75 to 9.5 mm, 10 to 40 percent of stone with the particle size of 4.75 to 9.5 mm, 30 to 50 percent of stone with the particle size of 0.075 to 4.75 mm, 3 to 8 percent of mineral powder with the particle size of 0 to 0.075 mm and modified asphalt which accounts for 5.5 to 7.5 percent of the total mass of the raw materials. According to the invention, the calcined bauxite/ceramsite material is compounded, so that the asphalt pavement can still keep good surface texture and structure under the long-term action of vehicle tires, regenerated texture is formed, the long-term skid resistance and wear resistance of the pavement surface layer are improved, the mechanical properties of the asphalt mixture are also improved, and the driving safety of highways is improved.
