The invention provides a gutter inlet with an initial rainwater diversion function and an initial rainwater diversion method. The gutter inlet comprises a well body and a rainwater grate, a middle partition plate is arranged in the well body, and the inner space of the well body is divided into an upper space and a lower space through the middle partition plate. An initial rain discharge pipe communicated with the upper space is arranged on the well wall of the well body; a rear rain discharge pipe communicated with the lower space is arranged on the well wall of the well body; the middle partition plate comprises two overturning plates hinged to the well wall of the well body. The two turnover plates are matched to enable the upper space and the lower space to be blocked or communicated; the turnover plate is driven by a corresponding turnover driving unit so as to rotate between a blocking position and a communicating position; a flow meter for measuring the accumulated flow of the gutter inlet is arranged in the upper space; the overturning driving unit and the flow meter are electrically connected with the controller; the position state of each turnover plate in the middle partition plate is automatically controlled according to the accumulated flow of the gutter inlet and the expected initial rainfall obtained through calculation, so that automatic diversion of initial rain and later rain is achieved.
