The invention relates to an anti-segregation agent and a preparation method thereof, and the anti-segregation agent comprises the following components in parts by weight: 30-50 parts of an early-stage anti-segregation component; 45-70 parts of a later-stage anti-segregation component; and water; the later-stage anti-segregation component is prepared from the following raw materials: unsaturated acid, acrylamide and/or a derivative thereof, a thickening functional monomer, an oxidizing agent, a reducing agent and water; the early-stage anti-segregation component is prepared from guar gum, lauroyl chloride, an alkali solution, a solvent and water. The anti-segregation agent is prepared by compounding the early-stage anti-segregation component and the later-stage anti-segregation component, the action time of the anti-segregation agent can be prolonged to a great extent, and the prepared anti-segregation agent can be stably stored and is excellent in action effect.
