The melon column type spherical hinge connecting joint comprises an upper melon cap, a lower melon buckle and a spherical hinge rotating head, the upper end of the upper melon cap is fixedly connected with a steel beam, and an upper hemispherical groove is formed in the lower end face of the upper melon cap; the upper end of the lower melon buckle is detachably and fixedly connected with the lower end of the upper melon cap, and a lower hemispherical groove is formed in the upper end face of the lower melon buckle; the upper hemisphere groove and the lower hemisphere groove are spliced into a spherical groove; the lower part of the lower melon buckle is provided with a channel communicated with the spherical groove; the upper end of the spherical hinge rotating head penetrates through the channel to be arranged in the spherical groove, and the lower end of the spherical hinge rotating head is arranged outside the lower melon buckle and fixedly connected with the supporting steel column. According to the invention, the upper melon cap and the lower melon buckle which are split are arranged, so that the connecting node can adapt to beam-column connection at various angles and is not limited by conventional vertical and horizontal directions. In a complex steel structure, the large design freedom degree and the high structural strength are achieved.
