The invention discloses a method and device for recommending the placement of marble pillars for a building structure, and the method comprises the following steps: obtaining a room contour defined by walls and pillars of which the floor height is greater than a screening threshold value for each floor of the building structure, and detecting corner information based on the room contour; and calculating a recommended placement position, placement direction and height of the marble pillar based on the corner information. Therefore, the arrangement position, height and direction of the marble pillar are automatically recommended for the building, the design efficiency is improved, and the design cost is reduced.
