The invention provides a steel box girder mounting method based on a cable-stayed bridge, and relates to the technical field of bridge construction. According to the method, for a first steel box girder needing to be installed, the first steel box girder is hoisted to a steel box girder support located in a preset area through a first hoisting device; sliding the first steel box girder to a mounting position corresponding to the first steel box girder by utilizing a sliding system on the steel box girder bracket, and connecting the first steel box girder to the mounting position; concrete pouring is conducted on the steel-concrete combined section based on the connected first steel box girder; and after the top of a cable bent tower of the cable-stayed bridge is sealed, the cable bent tower is used for sequentially installing the stay cables connected with the first steel box girder, so that installation of the stay cables of the installed girder section is completed. According to the embodiment of the invention, the installation step of the steel beam box can be moved forward to the top sealing of the cable bent tower and before the construction of the steel-concrete combined section, the construction time is shortened, the construction progress of the cable bent tower is not influenced on the premise of ensuring safety, the overall construction period is shortened, and the construction cost is reduced.
