The invention discloses an active blocking protection device and method suitable for ship lockage. The active blocking protection device mainly comprises manipulators, belt guide wheels and friction energy absorption devices which are sequentially installed on the two sides of a lock chamber from upstream to downstream. The mechanical arm grabs the brake band and is hung on a ship mooring bollard. The brake band penetrates through the band guide wheel and is installed on the friction energy absorption device, and the friction energy absorption device conducts winding, unwinding and braking on the brake band. The end of the brake band is connected with an arresting cable through a plain band connector. According to the active blocking protection device and method suitable for ship lockage, the safety risk that a large fleet collides with a gate in the lockage period can be dealt with.
