The invention relates to a smart city river channel dredging device and a working method thereof. A smart city river channel dredging device comprises a ship body, a separating device, a mud collecting barrel, a collecting barrel, a garbage conveying device, a mud conveying pipeline and a control system. The separating device is arranged below the ship body and comprises a mud shoveling bucket, a first air cylinder, a second air cylinder, a piston plate, a partition plate and a sealing device. By arranging the garbage conveying device and the separating device, the technical problem of how to automatically separate and clean garbage and sludge at the river bottom is solved.
