The invention discloses a surrounding rock material and a proportioning method thereof, the surrounding rock material comprises an aggregate and a cementing material, the aggregate is fine sand, and the cementing material is cement and gypsum; the proportioning method is as follows: the water content ratio of the fine sand to the cement to the gypsum is (7.5-9.5): (0.5-1.5): (0.3-0.7): (22-28); according to the surrounding rock material, only the four raw materials including the fine sand, the cement, the gypsum and the water are adopted, the number of the materials is small, the materials are easy to obtain, cost is low, and the surrounding rock material is non-toxic and harmless and is green and environmentally friendly compared with similar materials adopting the raw materials including engine oil, barite powder and the like, and the cost can be controlled in a large-scale model test; iV-grade and V-grade surrounding rock similar materials for most river-crossing bridge model tests can be simulated; and the similar material is simple in preparation method, convenient to cast and form, easy in operation flow and stable in material property.
