The invention relates to an automatic parking system for motor vehicles, comprising: at least one first infrastructure comprising a storage space (100) for storing vehicles and having a transfer station (110) between a common access road and the storage space; at least one autonomous robot (10) of a first type having means for lifting the autonomous vehicle from the outside and moving the autonomous vehicle into the first storage space; and a monitor for calculating a trajectory of the at least one autonomous robot; the automatic parking system further comprises: at least one second infrastructure comprising a second storage space (200) for storing the vehicle; and at least one autonomous vehicle (20) of a second type comprising means for driving on the public road and having a platform for receiving the motor vehicle.
