The waterproof material comprises the following components in parts by weight: 70-100 parts of Portland cement, 20-30 parts of quartz sand, 10-18 parts of epoxy resin, 6-13 parts of straw fiber, 20-40 parts of starch, 4-5 parts of a complexing agent, 1-2 parts of a defoaming agent, 0.5-1 part of a water reducing agent, 3-5 parts of nano inorganic powder and 1-1.5 parts of a surfactant. The invention also discloses a preparation method of the waterproof material. The waterproof material is prepared from the epoxy resin, the straw fibers, the nano inorganic powder and the like, has better comprehensive mechanical properties, and effectively solves the problems of poor compression and fracture resistance, poor impermeability, insufficient waterproof performance and the like in the prior art.
