The preparation method comprises the following steps: S1, manufacturing a slurry filter plate; s1.1, a plate body is prepared, and a rectangular through hole is machined in the plate body; s1.2, a plurality of zirconia ceramic chips are prepared, the zirconia ceramic chips are cut into rectangular chip structures, it is guaranteed that the lengths of the zirconia ceramic chips are equal to the widths of the rectangular through holes in the plate body, and then strip-shaped grooves are formed in the side walls of all the zirconia ceramic chips; s1.3, the zirconia ceramic chip arrays are installed in the rectangular through holes of the plate body; s2, mounting the filter plate obtained in the step S1 on the lower part of a grinding chamber of a ball mill; s3, uniformly mixing zirconium oxide powder and an additive, putting the mixture into a grinding chamber of a ball mill, injecting water into the ball mill, grinding, and enabling zirconium oxide slurry obtained by grinding to flow out through the filter plate; and S4, performing spray granulation on the zirconium oxide slurry obtained in the step S3 to obtain the zirconium oxide powder. The method has the beneficial effect that the zirconium oxide powder with higher purity can be obtained.
