The invention relates to the field of bridge buildings, in particular to a water conservancy bridge pier column protection system which comprises a damping sleeve, an anti-collision sleeve and an anti-collision protection plate. The shock absorption sleeve and the anti-collision sleeve are coaxially arranged on the bridge pier column in a sleeving mode, the anti-collision sleeve is located above the shock absorption sleeve, an air cushion is arranged in the anti-collision sleeve, the multiple anti-collision protection plates are arranged around the shock absorption sleeve in the circumferential direction at intervals, shock absorption rod sets used for reducing the impact strength of the anti-collision protection plates are arranged between the anti-collision protection plates and the shock absorption sleeve, and an anti-collision ring is coaxially arranged in the shock absorption sleeve in a rotating mode.
