VEHICLE POWER SUPPLY DEVICE AND DOOR LATCH DEVICE
A vehicle power supply device (1) is provided with: a backup power supply (6) to which power is supplied from an in-vehicle battery (3); a step-up unit (20) that steps up the voltage of the backup power supply (6) to a step-up voltage (Vb); a motor drive unit (7) that is connected to the battery (3) and the step-up unit (20), and that can drive the electric motor (2) by supplying power from one of the battery (3) and the step-up unit (20) having a higher voltage; and a control unit (8) that controls the operation of the boosting unit (20). When the control unit (8) determines that the predetermined step-up condition is satisfied, the control unit (8) controls the step-up unit (20) to step up the voltage of the backup power supply (6) to a voltage greater than the rated voltage of the battery (3).
