The invention provides a bridge cover beam construction system and a construction method thereof. The bridge cover beam construction system comprises a crawler, a construction elevator, a cage ladder, a cover beam construction platform and a cover beam template, the crawl device is installed on a bridge pier column and can move up and down along the bridge pier column. The capping beam construction platform is mounted on the crawl device through dead weight and can be driven by the crawl device to move up and down along the bridge pier column; the construction hoist comprises a construction hoist operation platform and an annular hoisting point frame, the annular hoisting point frame is installed on the crawler, the construction hoist operation platform is hoisted on the annular hoisting point frame through a steel wire rope, and the construction hoist operation platform can do up-down lifting motion along the constructed bridge pier column; the cage ladder is installed on the crawl device, and constructors can sit on the construction elevator and reach the capping beam construction platform through the cage ladder to conduct bridge capping beam construction operation.
