The invention discloses a power compensation and fault judgment method and device for an excavator and a readable storage medium. The power compensation method comprises the steps that the current of a hydraulic pump is collected; raising the hydraulic pump current to raise the hydraulic pump power; if the increased hydraulic pump current is smaller than the set hydraulic pump current threshold upper limit, the hydraulic pump current is adjusted according to the engine instantaneous speed drop and the engine stable state speed drop until the hydraulic pump current is larger than or equal to the set hydraulic pump current threshold upper limit; the upper limit of the hydraulic pump current threshold value serves as the final adjusted hydraulic pump current; if the lifted hydraulic pump current is larger than or equal to the set upper limit of the hydraulic pump current threshold value, the set upper limit of the hydraulic pump current threshold value is directly used as the finally adjusted hydraulic pump current; and performing compensation control on the power of the hydraulic pump by adopting the finally adjusted current of the hydraulic pump, so that the power of the hydraulic pump is matched with the power of the engine, and judging a fault according to the matching condition. Matching of the full-life-cycle engine and the hydraulic system is achieved through structure simplification, user perception is improved, the full-life-cycle power utilization efficiency of the engine is improved, and waste of manpower and material resources is reduced.
