The invention relates to an actuating mechanism for actuating a vehicle door, in particular for unlocking and opening the vehicle door, said actuating mechanism having: an actuating device for opening the vehicle door, in particular having a door handle; a movement system for transmitting movement of the actuating device to the signal transmitter, wherein the movement system has a cam disc; and an elastic pre-tightening element that is pre-tightened against the cam disc wherein the cam disc interacts with the pre-tightening element in order to define a first force threshold for a first rotation of the cam disc and a higher second force threshold for a second rotation of the cam disc downstream.
