The invention discloses an assembly type skirting line system and an assembly method. A skirting line comprises a skirting board and a fixing base connected with the skirting board in a clamped mode. One end of each skirting board is provided with a connecting piece used for closing up or connecting the two skirting boards in a matched mode. A seam width limiting part for limiting the covering width of a skirting line seam and an auxiliary positioning part are arranged on the inner side of the fixed seat in the extending direction of the skirting board; the length of the seam width limiting part extending towards the skirting board is larger than or equal to the length of the auxiliary positioning part extending towards the skirting board. According to the skirting line, by improving the structure of the skirting line, the skirting boards of the same specification can be matched with bases of different seam shielding width specifications, and the covering and shielding requirements of seams of different widths can be met only by changing the inclination degree of the outer surfaces of the skirting boards assembled to the bases of different specifications; and the fixed seats meeting the gap shielding requirement of the maximum width of the gap can be respectively mounted on the two wall bodies, so that the gap shielding requirement of different maximum widths of the gap between the two adjacent wall bodies of the same room and the ground can be met.
