The invention discloses an excavator automatic safety cruise control system and method.The system comprises a controller, the controller receives an automatic cruise instruction and judges whether an excavator meets an execution condition or not according to a detection signal of a rotation pose sensor, and if the excavator meets the execution condition, the excavator is started; the controller controls a walking mechanism of the excavator through the electromagnetic valve set and drives the excavator to execute automatic cruise. When the controller controls the excavator to automatically cruise, whether the excavator meets a relieving condition or not is judged according to detection signals of the rotation posture sensor and the tilt angle sensor, and if the relieving condition is met, automatic cruise of the excavator is relieved; the automatic cruise relieving function of the excavator is added, so that the automatic cruise safety of the excavator is improved.
