The invention discloses a gantry type rotary excavating material taking loader which is used for industries such as sandstone material fields and coal mines. Comprising a vehicle body portal frame, a bucket-wheel material taking and conveying mechanism, an unloading and conveying mechanism, a material blocking mechanism assembly, a material receiving mechanism assembly, a walking power system, a hydraulic control system and an electrical control system. A vehicle body portal frame is installed on the upper portion of the chassis assembly through a first slewing mechanism, a bucket-wheel reclaiming and conveying mechanism is installed at the front end of the vehicle body portal frame, and double-bucket-wheel excavating mechanisms are installed on the two sides of the front end of the bucket-wheel reclaiming and conveying mechanism. A discharging conveying mechanism is installed at the rear end of the vehicle body portal frame, a supporting column on the upper portion of the chassis assembly penetrates through the vehicle body portal frame, and the discharging conveying mechanism is installed on a second slewing bearing above the supporting column. According to the invention, dead-corner-free all-directional loading and unloading can be realized, the production and maintenance cost is reduced, the loading process is continuous and uninterrupted, and the loading capacity and the loading efficiency are far higher than those of a traditional loader; the rotary excavating material taking loader is driven by electric energy, no tail gas is discharged, no pollution is caused to the environment, and automatic and remote wireless control operation can be achieved.
