A folding traffic noise protection device capable of automatically ascending and descending comprises an automatic ascending and descending control system, an ascending and descending system, a U-shaped box body, a fixed lower barrier, a movable upper barrier and stand columns at the two ends. The device is characterized in that a U-shaped box body is adopted as a sound insulation unit, and a fixed lower barrier and a movable upper barrier are arranged in the U-shaped box body; the movable upper barrier is connected with the lifting mechanism and can move up and down in the U-shaped box body under the action of the control system, so that the height adjustment of the protective barrier is realized; the control system comprises an acoustic sensor which can receive noise signals in the environment and control the movement of the lifting mechanism in real time after processing and operation. The height of the noise protection device can be automatically adjusted, the situation that the noise reduction effect does not reach the standard due to the fact that the height of the protection device is too low can be avoided, and negative influences such as psychological depression and light shielding on traffic participants due to the fact that the height of the protection device is too high can be weakened.
