The invention discloses a reinforcing device of a self-balancing bridge abutment and a construction method.The reinforcing device comprises a front wall frame which is integrally rectangular, side wall frames are perpendicularly and fixedly connected to the two sides of the front wall frame, and the shapes of the side wall frames are matched with the shapes of corresponding bridge abutment side walls; the distance between the two side wall frames is consistent with the width of a bridge abutment to be reinforced; the front wall frame and the two side wall frames integrally form a U shape and are arranged on the outer side of a bridge abutment to be reinforced in a wrapping manner; the front wall frame is connected with a supporting beam, and the supporting beam extends outwards in the direction away from the side wall frame and is arranged in a supporting mode. The device has the advantages that the structure is independent, and comprehensive treatment can be conducted on the side wall, the front wall and the whole damage of the bridge abutment.
