The invention relates to the technical field of asphalt mixtures, and discloses a preparation method of an asphalt mixture based on hard asphalt, which comprises the following preparation steps: 1) at normal temperature, primarily mixing mineral aggregate and a hard asphalt cementing material to form a primary material; the mineral aggregate comprises aggregate and mineral powder, and the hard asphalt cementing material is formed by mixing and stirring deoiled asphalt, vacuum residue, catalytic cracking slurry oil and a catalyst; (2) after the preliminary material is spread in a tiled shape, the preliminary material is preheated to the preheating temperature through preliminary hot air circulation flow; 3) placing the preheated preliminary material in a stirring cavity of a stirrer, and continuously heating the preliminary material in the stirring cavity to a heating temperature; (4) a stirring shaft is arranged in the stirring cavity, and after the primary material is continuously stirred for a set time through the stirring shaft, an asphalt mixture is formed; in the process that the stirring shaft stirs the primary material, stirring hot air is continuously injected into the stirring cavity, and the temperature of the stirring hot air is higher than the heating temperature.
