The invention discloses a construction method of a Chinese style building steel rafter cornice waterproof structure. Comprising the following steps: S1, mounting steel rafters; s2, thermal insulation construction; s3, leveling layer construction is conducted, and after heat preservation construction is completed, cement mortar is used for leveling; s4, positioning rods are installed, specifically, the positioning rods are installed on the top faces of the cantilever ends of the steel rafters; s5, waterproof construction of the overhanging end of the steel rafter is conducted, and on the zinc sheet layer, polyurethane waterproof paint is used for brushing the portion, penetrating through the waterproof layer, of the steel positioning rod after laying is completed; s6, transverse strips are installed, wherein the transverse strips are arranged on the steel rafters and fixedly connected with the positioning rods; and S7, after the transverse strips are installed, anti-rust paint is brushed, and roof tile construction is conducted. During construction, formwork erecting is not needed, the self weight of the structure is reduced, materials are saved, meanwhile, the workload is reduced, labor is saved, the construction progress is accelerated, the waterproof effect of the steel rafter roof cornice is guaranteed through the design of the galvanized thin plates, the positioning rods and the transverse strips, and the construction quality is guaranteed.
